Lynne Friedman interprets the shimmering natural world in oil, watercolor, works on paper and mixed media collages. Living in the Hudson Valley, her focus is on exploring the land's magic, plant & flower growth, and recently explores an ecological message on disappearing glaciers and climate change..Lynne Friedman lives and works in Kingston, New York and travels to paint as well..

Growing up in the New York area she went West into the Colorado Rockies which led to the beginnings of passionate exploration of the possibilities of landscape. Her work has been the subject of three solo museum exhibitions; the James McNeil Whistler Museum (Lowell, MA), the Booth Western Art Museum (Cartersville, GA), and the Woodstock Art Association and Museum (Woodstock, NY). Friedman has been awarded eight artist residencies around the world, most recently in Provence, France in the Spring of 2023, other residency grants include the Moulin a Nef (Auvillar, France), Tyrone Guthrie Centre (Ireland), Julia & David White Foundation (Costa Rica), and Foundation Valparaiso (Mojacar, Spain). Her work has been selected for 2022-2024 for the US Embassy in Benin, W. Africa through the US Dept of State - Art in Embassies Program and previously in two other embassies.
